I’ll always love my Momma

My mom’s influence in the kitchen will always be something I cherish. She worked hard as a single parent, but always made sure my brother and I ate well. One of my fondest memories growing up was 1st Sundays at our house. In between morning worship and the Lord’s Supper mom would cook a great meal and invite what seemed like the entire congregation at times over for dinner. Some folk just showed up without an invitation. I miss those days. I miss those good Soul Food Sundays! To this day mom calls and ask how to cook various dishes. My grandmother used to always tell me how good my food was. The best compliment ever! Every meal I cook, I’m honoring their legacy. One day when gathering is a thing again, we’ll get back to those Soul Food Sundays!

Doing all things well,

Dalya
